Synarbor's Behaviour Management Seminar – A true success
On June 6 2009, Synarbor carried out its very own Behaviour Management Seminar, which was hosted by Sue Cowley.
Over 60 guests swamped Westminster's Fyvie Hall in order to experience what proved to be an outstanding and electrifying event.
Don't just listen to us, see what our teachers had to say:
Truly world class!
I enjoyed every bit of the seminar, especially the session on how to create exciting and creative lessons
I found all of the seminar both enjoyable and useful – especially the part on developing a positive atmosphere
The seminar was great! It was warm, cosy and informative
We would like to thank all those who attended the seminar and hope to see you all at our future events.

SEN Seminar
Date: 18th March 2009
The evening covered many aspects of Special Education Needs within SEN and mainstream schools, with
advise on how to deal with behavioural disorders. Our best turn out yet consisted of teachers and
teaching assistants within SEN and mainstream schools. The seminar was hosted by Ruth Bell
(TeachLondon Watford Divisional Manager and SEN Specialist). We received great feedback and would
like to thank all of the speakers and attendees. The day concluded with all our guests mingling
with one another whilst enjoying a glass of wine and other refreshments.
"Great presentations, well structured easy to understand and well explained"
Red Nose Day
Date: 13th March 2009
Red Nose Day was fun, colourful and filled with laughter. Each member of staff had to come into work
dressed in bright colours. However, the rule was that the clothing must not match! Spots with stripes,
super-hero outfits, red wigs and thick laces were just a few of the items of clothing that the staff
so proudly wore on the day. We successfully raised £280.
BETT 2009
Date: 14th – 17th January 2009
Synarbor exhibited at BETT for the first time this year, and received an overwhelming response. BETT
is the world's largest educational technology event. Taking place each January at Olympia London,
BETT attracts more than 600 educational suppliers and almost 29,000 visitors. It brings together the
global teaching and learning community for four days. Synarbor exhibited with demos on all of our
products such as OpenLink and e-portfolio as well as networking with fellow educationalist throughout
the 4 day event.
Induction Day
Date: 10th January 2009
January's Induction Day was our best January induction to date. All our overseas teachers arrived on
time despite the freezing conditions. Our guests were soon warmed by a welcoming speech that was
carried out by Synarbor's very own Clint Daniels (Compliance Manager). The day consisted of numerous
types of information that was vital in preparing our teachers, for teaching within the UK. The day
ran very smoothly and towards the end of the presentations, our teachers were able to meet with
their consultants on face-to-face basis, over a beer and pizza. The day ended on a typical English
note – snow!
We strongly recommend attending Induction Day to ensure all of our overseas teachers are fully
cleared and ready to work in the UK, with any and all concerns answered.
"The day was very informative, with lots of handouts and information given. Without this I would
have been quite lost" – Marie Larson
Interactive White Board Training
Date: 8th November 2008
The Interactive White Board Seminar was a fun day out for Synarbor's registered teachers to gather
together and receive a detailed training session on how to comfortably use Interactive White Boards,
in an excellent school in Chelsea. Despite the appalling weather, teachers managed to attend the
seminar that had been presented by Dale Lukritz (Expert on Interactive White Board Training). The
day included presentations and breakout sessions on the boards to get everyone involved.
"Yet another time I need to express sincere thanks and gratitude to you for giving me the
opportunity to interact with an Interactive White Board. I am looking forward to more workshops so
as to further enhance my skills" – Philip Regis
Induction Day
Date: 29th August 2008
September's induction day saw Synarbor's largest intake of overseas teachers. 180 teachers filled
the seats of The Darwin Lecture Theatre (UCL). Each presentation resulted in huge applauds and our
teachers praised Synarbor for such an informative event. The day concluded with our teachers having
drinks with their consultants at the UCL bar. We strongly recommend attending Induction Day to
ensure all of our overseas teachers are fully cleared and ready to work in the UK, with any and all
concerns answered.
"Everything was helpful – the more knowledge, the better" – Chebeau Young
