Our Vetting Policy
Quality Guaranteed
As a basic commitment to you, we undertake to provide you with suitably qualified, professional,
high quality teachers. All of our teachers will have been interviewed carefully and thoroughly by
one of our trained Career Managers, either in the UK or overseas. During the interview our Career
Manager will discuss previous teaching experience and will establish the individual's attitude to
teaching as well as interpersonal skills and flexibility. TeachLondon is a holder of the DCSF
Quality Mark.
Thoroughly Checked
It is TeachLondon's policy that we properly vet all supply teachers prior to acceptance. We satisfy
all Department for Children, Schools and Families and Department of Health and Home Office requirements for
vetting teachers. This means that all teachers complete a criminal record check* when registering
with us, are checked against List 99 and complete a signed medical declaration. All overseas teachers
are required to provide a criminal record check from their home country. We adhere to the Recruitment
and Employment Confederation (REC) Education Division code of practice.
We ensure that two confidential references are taken up for each teacher, including the most recent
teaching employer. We also verify that qualifications are valid by inspecting original documentation
or contacting the issuing institution.
Equal Opportunities
Finally, TeachLondon is committed to a Policy of Equal Opportunities, both as an employer and as a
recruitment agency for the placement of teaching staff. As part of our interview and vetting procedures,
all TeachLondon teachers agree to support our Equal Opportunities Policy when working in schools. This
ensures that our teachers promote equality of learning, irrespective of race, religion, gender (sexual
orientation), culture or disability.
* TeachLondon is registered with the Criminal Records Bureau.
